NCAN Resource Hub for K-12 Districts

The mission of the National College Access Network (NCAN) is to build, strengthen, and empower communities committed to college access and success so that all students have equitable opportunity to achieve social and economic mobility through higher education. Drawing on the expertise of hundreds of organizational members in every U.S. state, NCAN created a resource hub for improving the quality and quantity of support underrepresented students receive to apply to, enter, and succeed in postsecondary education.

The quality of K-12 education systems is a big factor in how young people are able to pursue their educational and employment interests after high school graduation. However, transitions from K-12 systems to post-secondary options like college or vocational training are more perilous for Black and Latino young people and young people experiencing poverty. K-12 districts and schools can help set students on a path to postsecondary success by improving postsecondary practices to meet the level of support their students require.
